OSBI explains that court-record expungement and arrest-record expungement are different processes. It also states that court-record expungement is free, while arrest-record expungement requires a $150 OSBI processing fee and may involve local law-enforcement fees.
If a court seals or expunges an arrest record, provide the relevant order to the sheriff records unit if a local booking photo or booking record still needs suppression. Do not assume that dismissal alone removes every public booking photo. Avoid paid-removal offers from private sites. State and Federal Photos
